Kasab is dead.

In my opinion, my nation won when it created individuals like Tukaram Omble and Kamte and Salaskar and Karkare and Karambir Kang and countless others. I celebrated when the dead terrorists were denied burial place on this land by the muslims of this land. I rejoiced when my nation showed to the rest of the world that the only way to fight evil is NOT to succumb to it. That was when my nation offered to an utterly despicable criminal such as Kasab a legal procedure that it would offer to any other criminal.

But the pain will never go away, because I will never allow the wound to heal... and I will not allow the wound to heal because I want to remind myself for the rest of the life how it feels to be at the receiving end of a totally inhuman act. So how do I take today? I have done my celebration and my rejoicing long back. Today is but the culmination of a long, tedious legal process. And for that, today, and only for today, I suffer in peace.
